This all assumes no noise in the jump stats!
Alando Tucker has the highest vertical leap in UW-Madison basketball history, 38 inches. Nobody should be surprised by that. Neither should anyone be surprised that Reggie Bush can outdo it, having jumped 40.5 inches in a scout camp recently.
What should surprise us is that Matt Leinart jumped 37 inches, only one inch shy of the all-time Badger basketball mark. The stand-in-the-pocket quarterback. The guy I think should get picked after Vince Young. Well, what is Vince's vertical? 43?
That I don't know, but I do know what is more shocking than if Vince has jumped 50 inches: USC's junior offensive tackle Winston Justice, also entering the draft and also going through all the drills in the USC scout camp, is 6' 6.5" tall, he weighs 319 pounds, and the man had a vertical leap of 39 inches, higher than anyone in the history of Badger basketball, and only an inch and a half lower than Reggie Bush, who already has something like three of the five all-time best human missile touchdowns.
Bush's mind to his body: "Jump now, land later."
